Access Control (Advanced Options)

The Access Control page sets access permissions on a variety of system objects, including files, folders, registry keys, shares, services, and printers.

Setting Access Permissions

To set access permissions on a system object, follow these steps:

  1. Click the New button. The Set Access Control dialog box appears.
  2. Fill in the dialog fields.
  3. Click OK to accept your changes.

Updating Access Permissions

To update access permissions on a system object, follow these steps:

  1. Select the system object to update.
  2. Click the Edit button.
  3. Update the dialog fields.

Removing Access Permissions

To cancel setting permissions on a system object, follow these steps:

  1. Select the system object to no longer set permissions for.
  2. Click the Delete button.

Scripting Details

The two-way integrated IDE emits or updates the underlying setup script every time the visual view is used. If you are using InstallAware scripting in your setups, the following information identifies the changes made by this visual page to your setup script.

This page emits the following types of scripting commands: Set Access Control. Additional general scripting commands may be emitted.
