List 7Zip Archive

This command lists the files contained inside virtually any archive type available today. InstallAware uses 7Zip data compression technology which provides superior data compression rates for files of all types. Using the List 7Zip Archive command, you may query any archive supported by 7Zip data compression technology, directly from within your setup, to obtain the exact list of files it contains.

Archive

Provide the full path to the archive to list. InstallAware supports all archive types and all compression algorithms that are natively supported by 7Zip data compression technology.

Password

If the archive to list is password protected, enter that password here.

Variable

Enter the variable to hold the results of the listing. The returned file names are delimited by the | character. If some of the returned files contain embedded spaces, those file names will additionally be wrapped inside double quote " characters..

 Notes

• If the listing does not succeed, the variable entered in the Variable field will be prepended with the string literal #ERROR\, immediately after which a human readable error description string follows.
• You may easily navigate the results returned by this command using the For Each...Next loop constructs.
• If you use this command to list archives other than 7Zip archives, be sure to switch to the full compression engine.
