Can not find archive File

Postby mgomezrios » Fri Jun 01, 2012 9:13 am

I had to change pc, so I had to install the last version of Install Aware and reinstalled my activation file.
I opened my install aware project that I was created with version 7 of IA and built the compressed single installing exe file. The install was built correctly.
The case is that when I execute it, after saying 'The InstallAware Wizard is verifying the contents of this package. This may take a moment' the message 'can not find archive file' appears. After that, the installation continues and my application is installed correctly.
How can I solve that?. I think that is something connected with the shared strings.
Can somebody help me.
Thanks

Dear user,

honestly, I am not quite sure it is a problem related to shared strings.
Anyway, you can try to import these strings once again and see what happens.

Dear Francesco

I tried it but the problem persists.
The complete message is "Cannot open compressed data stream" "Cannot find archive file"

I started a new installation project and when and when I run the new installer the same error is given.

One diference is that my new Pc has windows 7 64 bits.
I have no problems with my older Pc that has windows vista 32 bits.

Please help me

Dear user,

can you post to me a very sample project that replicates your issue that I can verify?

This topic applies to InstallAware Multi Platform as well.

You may use the:

Code: Select all

 /l=<logfile>

command line parameter to log your setups.

Please be advised that the issue referred to in this post was resolved more than a decade ago.
