Error during build: Unable to compile MSI action install ass

Postby ruurd@webpartner.nl » Wed May 02, 2012 3:09 am

Hello,
I have a vs2010 windows application with a couple of assemblies.
In the assemblies view there is nothing, I try to install only files.
When I look in the msi code on the Install autogen tab I see a couple of install assembly

1 How can I change this into Install Files ?

2. Is there a simple way to strongly sign my assemblies

Thanks in advance

Ruurd Eijzinga
I am using vs2010 Installware 2012 Mooya

Dear User,

I'm not quite sure that I understood your question.

Have you included your assemblies DLL files with the assemblies view in IA Design Mode?

From the MSI code view you should have "Install Assembly ... to ..." command line. To edit it from MSI view, just double click the command.
The same can be done with assemblies view in IA Design Mode, selecting the EDIT button.

Regarding your second question;
if you are asking if exist a method embedded with InstallAware to sign a file, the answer is: No, there isn't.
Anyway you could use an available third party library, plugin or via WIN API using dll call command.

PLEASE NOTE;
Please Use the appropriate forum to post your question ... you posted in the IA Plugin Forum.
