Dear Sir/Madam,
Hello,
I am Suzuki Shinobu from Japan.
I have a few questions about the functionality of Install Aware.
I purchased “Install Aware Express X17”, installed the evaluation version and then installed the license file.
However, some features of Install Aware do not work properly.
1. Unable to create sub-folders - at the deployment destination. (Error image attachment: CreateSubfolder-err.png)
Setup Architecture - Files - Target Folders - $TARGETDIR$
2. Custom menu in dialogs is not displayed.(attachment: Dialogs.png)
User Interface - Dialogs
I would like to ask you for your help.
Best Regards,
Shinobu

Re: Questions about Express X17 settings
This topic applies equally to InstallAware Multi Platform.
Very nice to meet you, and let me see if I can be of some help:
1. The error message you received is very clear. Since you are on the Express edition, you cannot access the script editor to insert an Apply Install command (InstallAware Multi Platform is offered as a single edition with features somewhere between Studio and Studio Admin, so it would already offer you access to the script editor).
You have to create a setup using a template that already has the Apply Install command, most templates/samples already have it, you can use the Quick Start Wizard, etc. Just don't start with a completely blank script, as it sounds like you may have.
2. Same problem. Your pre-selected template/sample has no dialogs at all. Even the Empty Setup (not Empty Script) template has some dialogs (and also has Apply Install), so just pick another project.
With a non-Express edition, of course, you could manually add dialogs, scripts, etc. to your project using the Project Manager window - just not possible with Express, as it tries to keep things super simple for you.
I hope this helps you!
