Re: Setup resource decompression failure

Also, can you reproduce this with any setup project, or does it happen with just yours?

Re: get Path of user home directory

It depends entirely on the software installer used by your software, so that's why I suggested you check with them, actually.

Re: Setup resource decompression failure

Very surprising, this issue was closed a long time ago - I've re-opened it to see what we can find out.

Re: BUG: Run Program intermittenly raises a MessageBox error

Can you please produce in VMware - we don't use Hyper-V here.

How big are your files? It may make sense to mail in a DVD instead.

For that you'll need to consult the documentation of your own software kit.

Re: InstallAware + Merge Modules

I'd use the Database Import Wizard to convert the MSMs :)

What Windows version are you testing on?

Re: BUG: Run Program intermittenly raises a MessageBox error

As far as logging goes, just run setup.exe with the /l parameter (the help file contains the necessary parameter details).

I'll add an RTL wish list also. Wish lists are effective only for future versions.

Re: Orphaned entries in Programs and Features

For where the uninstall keys are recorded by platform and by user mode setting, it might be best to consult Microsoft SDK documentation.

Re: Windows Installer 4.5 Before SQL 2008 Express R2

You have the full scripts to the runtime installers, which you may have customized, so the best thing to do is debug the scripts, possibly even directly on the VM in question.

Re: Right-to-left in InstallAware Message Boxes

Isn't that flag automatic for RTL Windows, or does it need to be manually specified?

Re: Right-to-left in InstallAware Message Boxes

Message boxes are provided by the OS, so you cannot control them.

Form properties are not change-able at runtime as yet. I'll add this as a feature suggestion.

Re: BUG: Run Program intermittenly raises a MessageBox error

What is the error code you get from the Run Program call? If there is no error code returned, this means the API call is actually succeeding. This is all we can know for sure.

Again, I would suggest you to try Run Program As, to see if that solves the problem.
