Re: Product GUIDs and component GUIDs
Yes, if you don't specify to stop and delete, then nothing will happen. Note: using the MSI engine, the control service must be called before Apply Install (and would justify your work-around). If you use the Native Engine (IA 10 on), you could add the logic to your setup to specify the control serv...

Re: Unable to uninstall on window 7 x64
The problem shouldn't resurface. Cut-pasting can some time work to solve some issues. If you look at the "InstallAware clipboard data" it's largely "controlled" by the GUIDs that you see. Some times they can be duplicated, which can cause problems. Cut-pasting regenerates the und...

It sounds like you installed your old license over the new version of InstallAware.

Re: running sql scripts and custom install fields
Do you want the zip to be installed to your program directory or do you want to avoid issuing an exe (perhaps due to server restrictions)?

Re: Product GUIDs and component GUIDs
With a setup built with InstallAware, the service is being removed on uninstall? This shouldn't happen if you're using the Install Service and Control Service commands (unless you have a control->Stop & Delete on Uninstall). You can also use the Services view in the Advanced Options folder under...

Re: Install SQL Native Client on both 32 and 64 bit systems
OK, I got it. I think there's enough information here, then. I've added this to the runtime request list and we may add it to the runtimes view if there's enough demand for it.

(Using InstallAware 10) Include as a runtime Microsoft SQL Server Express 2008 R2 (x64). With the Microsoft SQL Server Express 2008 R2 runtime selected, click the Options button. So, does it seem like the HKCU entries are appearing correctly, but not the HKUD?
I forgot to mention above, I was only searching for "Data_My_Sample_Project_for_Win32_HKUD" to see where it was being recorded.

Re: Blue screen crash during install
The cause is unknown based on this report. You might want to submit a ticket with Microsoft and they might be able to determine something from the memory dump in the blue screen. It sounds like the software was installed at one point and it's not clear how it got into this state... To remove in this...

That reminds me, there was an issue installing SQL Server 2008 Express with IA 9x that's been resolved in IA 10.
